Does it repaint or recalc past bars in any situation?

Thank you for the excellent question. This is a crucial point for any structural indicator.

To answer directly: No, StructureSniper does not repaint, and it does not recalculate past bars.

Here is the technical explanation of why it is non-repainting:

            1. How Swings are Confirmed
The indicator's logic is based on confirming historical swings, not predicting live ones. The key parameter you noted is 1. Swing lookback bars (Default: 3).

This means that for a "Swing High" (▲) to be plotted, the indicator must see a high price that is higher than the 3 bars to its left and the 3 bars to its right.

Because it must wait for 3 bars to close on the right, the signal (the ▲) for that swing high will only appear on the chart after those 3 bars are complete.

This is a confirmation delay, which is standard for all non-repainting swing/fractal indicators. It is not repainting. Repainting would be if the indicator plotted a ▲ and then removed it later. StructureSniper does not do this; it simply waits for full confirmation before plotting the signal, and it is permanent once plotted.

            1. How BOS/CHoCH are Confirmed
The "Break of Structure" (BOS) and "Change of Character" (CHoCH) signals are also non-repainting for two reasons:

They are based on confirmed swings: The BOS signal is only looking for a break of a previously confirmed (and permanent) swing point.

They are based on closed prices: As the description states, a BOS is triggered "when price closes above the last swing high." A bar's close price is fixed and will never change.

            Summary
The indicator is designed to be an objective, non-repainting tool.

It has a built-in confirmation delay (due to Swing lookback bars) to ensure a swing is valid before plotting it.

All signals (▲, ▼, BOS, CHoCH) are based on closed bars and confirmed historical data. Once a signal is printed on the chart, it will not move, change, or disappear.
