Is the bot sensitive to broker execution speed or commission models (ECN vs standard)?
The Guardian is primarily a risk-management bot (a “guardian” for your prop account): it monitors things like daily loss, overall drawdown, position size and exposure, and only intervenes when predefined risk limits are breached (for example by closing open trades or blocking new entries).
Because of this, it is not a high-frequency scalper or arbitrage system, and therefore not particularly sensitive to broker execution speed or to the commission model (ECN vs standard). It does not rely on ultra-fast fills to work correctly.
You can run it on both ECN and standard accounts. The only real difference is the all-in trading cost (spread + commissions), which may slightly affect the net result of the emergency actions (like forced closures), but it does not change the core logic, the signals, or the risk-management rules.
For best results we recommend:
using a reliable broker with stable execution and no abnormal slippage,
avoiding symbols with extremely wide or unstable spreads,
making sure your overall cost (spread + commission) is in line with typical prop-firm conditions.
As long as those conditions are met, the Guardian will behave the same way on both ECN and standard accounts.
