Ciao. Ho scaricato la versione di prova ma non funziona col back testing. E normale? Come faccio a provarlo?

Hi m_grassenis88,
Thank you for your interest in Midas. The trial version is restricted to demo accounts only, and this includes backtesting. To test it, please switch to a demo account in cTrader using the account selector in the top-left corner, then run your backtest from there. If you do not have a demo account, you can open one through your broker free of charge.
The full version works on both live and demo accounts.Best Regards

Thanks for your help. I'm trying back testing now. Can I tweak the settings as I like in this free version, or is that only possible with the full version?

Great Bot - works very good for the last 6 months.
Any recommendation for optimization? Which parameters should be optimized and what is the best period?
And it never trades short, am i right?- GGW_Capital
Hi toberl77,
Thank you for showing interest in Midas. For optimisation, the parameters in the Risk group (SL and PT coefficients) tend to be the most responsive to changing market conditions, as they are ATR-based and gold volatility shifts over time. We recommend running the optimiser over the most recent 3-6 months of data, as this tends to capture the current market environment without overfitting to older conditions. As a general rule, reviewing your settings every few months is good practice for any EA -- not just Midas. If you notice performance drifting from what you saw in backtesting, that is usually a sign the volatility profile has shifted and a fresh optimisation pass is worthwhile.
Regarding short trades -- yes, Midas does trade both directions. The short side uses a different signal configuration with its own SL coefficient and trailing stop. However, the short entry conditions are more selective than the long side, so you will typically see fewer short trades. Depending on the period you are backtesting, you may see stretches where no short signals trigger at all.
Best Regards
