        How should I combine this with confirmation (trend filter, higher-TF, volume)?

            You can use the Liquidity Pools indicator for confirmation right after the price breaks through trending order blocks. Alternatively, you can use the PVA volume indicator or the Squazzer volume indicator for further confirmation.
