It isn't giving you signals, so leading or lagging doesn't really matter. But technically, a candle has to close for it to print the start or end of a trading window. I wouldn't want to trade the opening candle, so waiting for the first close is not a bad thing. The indicator gives you a visual as to where you are without having to focus on watching the clock, you can focus on other things.
